Remembrance

REMEmber

Remembrance is an important part of the lives of every serving and retired REME soldier, officer and their families.  The REME Charity is also committed to remembering all those who have fallen and continues to support their families long after.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

The Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers participates in a number of remembrance events throughout the year, including, the annual service at the NMA, Field of Remembrance, Remembrance Sunday and the March past the Cenotaph.

National Memorial Arboretum

The National Memorial Arboretum is the UK’s year-round centre of Remembrance; a spiritually uplifting place which honours the fallen, recognises service and sacrifice, and fosters pride in our country. It is a living and lasting memorial.

The Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers has a permanent memorial to the past and present members of the Corps on the site.  The memorial was entirely funded by The REME Charity.  Every year we hold a service of remembrance and celebration at The REME Memorial, which includes a military band, a parade of The REME Association Standard Bearers and a Service by the Corps Padre.
